The Go To big T-rig / C-rig Rod
As per title I’d like to know what is your Go-To rod for the aforementioned techniques

i know its titled as a frog rod but i really liked the megabass us 17 destroyer valdivia for throwing zoom ol monsters and other large worms on c rigs and texas rigs. I had it paired with a diawa sv 103 and really liked that combo for the mentioned techniques

Custom Lamiglas Infinity 874. I like it for 1/2 and 3/4 oz jigs, too.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Re: The Go To big T-rig / C-rig Rod
I use the gen one Tat 761HFB flipping stick. It has an extra long handle and bombs c-rigs and frogs. I've never had much luck with c rigs, though. It works for jigs, too, but I don't really like it for pitching and flipping because the handle is too long. It's almost too long for working frogs, honestly, but is great for casting them and hauling the fish out of slop.
This is the way.

Re: The Go To big T-rig / C-rig Rod
I feel the Valdivia is one of the best Carolina Rigging rods I have owned. It would do well on big texas rigs as well. In my opinion it shines for 3/4 to 1 ounce c-rigs though.
Re: The Go To big T-rig / C-rig Rod
For C- rig I'm using 8' Steez Compile X. I love this rod for c - rig because it's length and sensitivity.
Was using it for t-rig for long time.3/8 - 1 oz no problem. If long cast needed this is the rod.

everyone knows I'm going to say NRX 894 so I will get it out there. Now if you go above 1.2oz total weight you need something else but I never do that with a T-rig. I do at times with ball and chain
Re: The Go To big T-rig / C-rig Rod
I use the Valdivia as well. I use it for c-rigs, bigger jigs and Texas rigs, awesome rod!

Re: The Go To big T-rig / C-rig Rod
I guess the question we need to ask is the c-rig and t-rig rod one an the same. c-rig for me is typically offshore structure or grass. the T-rig mostly more target practice. If I am offshore seems I pick up a jig over trig.
Re: The Go To big T-rig / C-rig Rod
Valdivia here also. It’s my dedicated C-Rig rod.

Valdiva,,,,You guys speak very highly of this rod and I am inclined to know more about it.
Tell me what reel are you pairing with it?
I read the TTT.com description of this rod and it seems more like a flipping stick.
I used the NRX 894 almost exclusively for C rigs, how much better is the Valdiva?

I use a MB Faust/SV103 for 3/8+ Texas rigs, 1/2+ oz jigs and slop/punching. Versital rod that doesn't spend much time on the bench.

Please retire that rod already, lmaoDavidSA wrote:everyone knows I'm going to say NRX 894 so I will get it out there. Now if you go above 1.2oz total weight you need something else but I never do that with a T-rig. I do at times with ball and chain
