Rods You Have Aquired For 2019

Post by Team Bass » Sun Jan 20, 2019 6:57 am

Which rod or rods have you chosen to add to your lineup for 2019? I picked up a lot of info from tackle tour research so thank you guys first of all. Your feedback on rods you have purchased means a lot to the guy that can not pick up the rod personally to decide before a purchase. I will start it off. I received the Nrx 916 ubr which I plan on using for punching this year. I also placed an order from the tackle trap for the megabass Faust carbon head for frogging and the megabass F4-63 eliminator carbon head for jerks, traps and shallow cranking. I will post pics when I receive all of the rods.

i plan on adding a MB Javelin. seems like a great rod to launch single hook moving baits. im so happy with the balance and feel of the Daemos and FMJ that im not worried at all about the purchase.

id love the CNQ 905 for small/medium swim baits and offshore fishing but the price tag is too high for me to justify that purchase.

I'd love to see a new version of the X4 Destruction with same taper and power. i broke my used one on the first outing. my fault not the rod's. those 50 or so casts had a smile on my face.

893 nrx. Pretty disappointed with the rod never seen a rod so poorly constructed. Loomis should be ashamed.

Deep Throat Custom
Not a lot of information on it but I had been eyeing it for a long time even when deployed
I was very skeptical when i received it. But I have nothing but positive things to say about it

I thought about purchasing the deep throat custom. At the last minute I changed my mind and ordered the eliminator. I needed a shorter rod length because I will be walking in the water with waders on. I couldn’t really find that much info at all on eliminator. I bought tried and sold a Dobyns 705cb last year. I didn’t care for it. Just personal preference.

I just received the nrx 803 for my wife and the 916 ubr for me. We wanted to test them out. For the money yeah they are not quality built. From now on I’m sticking with MB or other JDM companies.

So far? MS-X MXC-70H, 70MH, 610M, 64UL/BF. Great rods. I should have gone this route a long time ago.

Thinking hard about the frog rod...
This is the way.

Interesting, I must be lucky. I purchased NRX 902S that looks great. I used it to land my 2018 personal best largemouth (10.82#). Also purchased a G.Loomis/Shimano Conquest 902S that looks flawless and fishes great.

And anyone that knows me with regards to fishing, knows that I am absolutely obsessive about not just performance, but the equipment's "fit and finish". It has to look good while providing exceptional performance.

ill be adding the 6'4" lxf st croix legend elite panfish rod at some point soon, to go with the 2015 exist 2003c i picked up on sale from TW. i have the 6'3" mlxf legend elite as well as 2 of the 6'10" mlxf legend elites and love them, so hoping the panfish version lives up to its big brothers. nothing like stream smallies on light gear IMO. i love my 2016 destroyer lycaon, an major craft 6'5" ms-x limited, and hoping the st croix is on par with those rods!

Made early and firm New Years resolution to thin the herd. Cull to only favorites and maybe 1 backup. Read on TT about Kistler sale. Have multiple nrx, jdm, St Croix extremes, but no kistler. Talked to a few friends on the board and they said the "bones" are the real deal. Ended up with 2....z-bone 3 lmh fast 7'6" and a bones 5 heavy MOD 7'6". Damn you monkey!!! Oh well, got to talk to Trey for a while and resolutions are made to be broken. Maybe next year.

I picked up a couple over the winter so far. I got a Shimano Zodias 175xh casting rod on sale for heavy slop froggin. Also just picked up a new NRX854 for under $300 from my local Cabelas/BPS on clearance. It will feel right at home with my NRX893,873, and 894.

Here’s a couple of rods I bought late last year or early this year, and a few reels as well. Here’s the Steez racing design jigga stick with a Jdm 8:1 Steez A with a pg spool 16 lb sniper slp95 handle. Shimano x Jackall poison ultima 70mh with a Steez svtw it now has a zpi m spool and the handle from my Steez A / w cork knobs.
