JDM Rods to have this Spring???

Post by esvangler » Sun Jan 13, 2019 3:04 pm

Whats up guys,

Ive been looking over a few jerkbait rods for the upcoming prespawn/spawn. Currently its between the Poison Adrena 1610M-2, the Posion Glorious 1610ml-BFS Mighty Finesse, and the Megabass Black Jungle F4.5-69XBJ Shallow Fast Moving Special.

Does anyone have any experience with these particular rods? If so, I would love to see some pros and cons on them.

What other rods are you guys looking forward to use this Spring?

I have both the original and 18 version of the 6'10 medium 2 piece Adrena. Great sticks for jerkbaits, plus a whole lot more. Shimano is also releasing a new 2 piece Scorpion rod for the Jdm market. Looks like the little brother to the World Shaula.

I'm still confused on the 2 piece aspect. Is it a two piece in the traditional sense? Or is is removable from the butt section?

Well, I still maintain that 6'10" is too long for jerkbaits, however I just got a 6'10" JDM rod, an MS-X 610M/R. I got it for shallow cranking, spinnerbaits, and Keitechs, but since so many insist on that particular length for 110's and what-not, I can't help but give it a shot. The 65ML/RF I currently use is spectacular, so I hardly imagine how it could be any better, but we shall see. We shall see... :-k
This is the way.

im a bit taller at 6'4 so i use a 7'0 megabass levante, but I'm looking to shorten up and go for a more refined rod. i use this rod for spinnerbaits as well and man its an awesome rod for it! loads up so nice on the reaction bites!

Hello!
If you looking for Shimano rod, Posion Glorious 1610ml-BFS is NOT jerkbait rod. I think you must choose from Poison Adrena 1610M-2 and Posion Glorious 166M/1610M. I have first one, because closer lenght is important to me: http://www.tackletour.net/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=79504

I have the shallow water/fast moving speacial. Does really well for squarebills and rattle traps. Loads perfectly and do not pull the hooks loose when you hook up.

I recently got the Poison Adrena 166ML-2 for jerkbaits. Only had a chance to fish with it one day in early January when we got a reprieve from the ice here in northern Illinois. Handled a 110 and 110+1 great imo, the rod was in my hands all day as jerkbaits were all we could catch fish on. Ended up catching several bass and pike. I was slightly concerned with the idea of a center cut rod but I saw no issue with it during use.
