CNQ842c What are you using it for?
I'm interested in the CNQ842c. Just wanted to know what you are using yours for.
I'm thinking it might be good for 4&5 inch sinkos, or maybe jerk baits.

Re: CNQ842c What are you using it for?
842 is probably my favorite rod of all time no matter what series it came from. I use my Conquest for jerkbaits and topwater mainly, but fish plastics from time to time. Jerkbaits from 3/16-1/2oz are in its zone, and fishes them really well with plenty of flex in the rod to keep them pinned. Some of the baits I use on a regular basis are Flash Minnow 80 and 95, Pointer 78 and 95 Silent, Shadow Rap Shad, Sammy 100 and 115, Spook Jr. among many others. I won’t comment to much on plastics, as I fish a lighter rod for plastics than most, but would work fine for plastics and jigs to 3/8oz. Anything heavier feels better on the 843. These rods are extremely versatile, and can cover pretty much anything up to 3/8, and some stuff to 1/2oz.

I use my 842 for lighter gear, from
Drop shot to 3 inch senkos, the rod goes every where I go just Incase I run into a body of water.

I have a glx version also, just interested if the CNQ version is just enough different to warrant the purchase. If not I will probably go with the spinning version.

Think of the CNQ842c as an NRX 842.5c. More backbone for sure. Great for Jerkbaits. So very happy with this rod. I also use this for small cranks.
It is slightly heavier than the Conquest 842s. I throw weightless senkos with this rod, and again, fantastic.

A quick follow up. I purchased the CNQ 842S version after a trip to Fishermans Warehouse. Enjoyed a talk with Gary Yammamoto also. It was my first trip there and it won't be my last! Need to bring more cash on the next trip.

I own this and I agree with the above it is versatile. Jerkbaits and topwater yes and yes. I also use it for Shakey Head fishing as well. I think it is a really nice option there. I also work some weightless senkos with it as well and the smaller swimbaits (plastic on jig head style).

Thanks, I may consider this rod in addition to the spinning model that I purchased. I really like lighter action rods.
