NRX 852C how does it translate to JDM rods?
NRX 852C how does it translate to JDM rods?
I'm curious how does this NRX translate to JDM rods, specifically Shimano rods? I'm not specifically talking about tapers and sensitivity, but more about power, line and lure weights.

First two numbers are total length in inches and the third number is power. I power being light, 2power medium and 3 med heavy and 4 heavy. Nrx rods seem to be a bit on the light side of most power rating systems. I dont have an 852, but do have a 893, 873, 894, and a 852s spinning rod. All rods are a bit different, what JDM models are you looking to compare it to. Hopefully some body with specific knowledge can chime in. Good luck.

I have a few JDM shimano casting rods and never fished any of the gloomis stuff, only held a conquest and 4 power NRX in my hand at a store - that's about it. The question specifically applies to 852s weight rating or 1/8-3/8 oz with a 10-14 lb line weight. My BFS expride has the same rating with a 6-12lb line weight. Then my Adrenas are 3/16-1/2 and 1/4-3/4.
Ignoring sensitivity how does the NRX 852c compare to those.

Not sure about the other rods but I would not use the 852c as a bfs.
My bfs is a GLX 842 and that is actually pushing it imo.
If I wanted to go lighter I would choose a kistler magnesium 3 medium light with a NFC blank...
