Re: Chatterbait rod
I am using my Dobyns Champion 734C for chaterbaits. Megabass Black Jungle Deep Cranking Slow Rolling is a sweet chaterbait rod. For right now I'm using it for 1/2 oz spinnerbaits. I bet that the Javelin that you mentioned would also be a good choice.
Thanks for the epiphany captain obvious
Re: Chatterbait rod
Over the years I started with a 7mh quantum smoke, then 734c champion, 7'2mhr tatula, 7'2mhr steez xt. Now I've settled on nrx 854c wit 12lb floro wit a little more stretch than normal to offset stiffness of the 854. After your first few nrx rods, you look for techniques to use them whether sensitivity is needed or not. Pretty good hookup ratio wit that rod so far.
Re: Chatterbait rod
Just got the Dobyns 736CB Glass for it paired up with the Dawia SV103H.
throwing mostly 3/8 and 1/2.
I need to take a picture soon

Re: Chatterbait rod
Poison Adrena 172H for me. The tip is just special for a "heavy" rated rod, has more of a jdm fast action imo. Hook up ratio for 1/2 and 3/4 oz has been better than previous rods used.

Re: Chatterbait rod
Tatula 7'2" MH Glass all the way. I hardly ever miss a hook up with that rod. The Zillion version would be a worthy upgrade because it has K frames with SiC inserts for better braid casting.

I've had my eye on that Zillion 6'6" Heavy for a long time and finally found a deal on it yesterday. I think that rod is gonna be a blast for skipping and maybe big pencil poppers.jwfflipper14 wrote:I'm using a Daiwa Zillion 6'-6" mh and love it amd a Tatula Elite TAEL741MHRB Randy Howell both rods are very good for the price!!

Re: Chatterbait rod
I am currently using a St. Croix Rage 7'6" MH Moderate for my chatterbait and so far so good.
I would like to upgrade this year to maybe a Dobyns 734 or 744.

Re: Chatterbait rod
I have been using a MB X4 Destruction for a few years now and love it for 1/2 oz chatterbaits and 65lb braid. I know its no longer made so I dread the day something happens to it.
Re: Chatterbait rod
Man that is huge rod for me for that weight
