St Croix Avid X

Post by mprestonSEK » Wed Jan 24, 2018 12:45 pm

I have been looking into getting a new jerkbait/topwater rod. The Avid X is what I am thinking right now but I'm up for suggestions as well. Is the 6'8 MHF going to have too much backbone? Would I be better off with the 6'8 MXF?

The MH/F will be too stout for treble hook lures for sure. I’d stick to either the M/F or that 6’8” M/XF. The XF I personally think is less versatile, but a lot of people like it for jerkbaits. It has a super light tip that hinges into backbone very fast.
