This rod is great.. I love it and I have been using a pxtr on it but ultimately went to the faithful curado 50e with the KTF spool
Im throwing 1/8 jk shakey heads with the wire hook.. Its just excellent for shakey heads and drop shots. I didnt want to say much until i got a fish on in terms of the backbone and THIS rod has plenty of back bone yet your able to let the load of the rod pin the fish without ripping out fine wire hooks. You can dropshot , and even topwater with this rod. I know many of you are looking for a BFS rod and this rod is just right for me.. Very versatile and the blank is sensitive. If you can't detect that you have a bite with this rod, you would have to be dead because bites will wake you out your sleep. Of course wacky rigging is not a problem and you have the accuracy to skip a dock with it. The guides are what I think are semi micro not really small but very close.. They could be micros but I dont know for sure i'll have to reread the description of the rod once more..

Bottom Line VERY VERY good rod for just about any finesse technique you can think of.
I want another one but first I need to try the daiwa Brent Eheler rod 1/8-1 oz.. Huge weight range for me
I was looking at a used rod of a different brand but its near the same price as this rod new.. Im also going to look in the dreaded Mega bass line up.. I think i got it wrong with the pxtr because its a lot more than a finesse reel.. so in the MB line up im looking for something different..

There’s only one M casting option in the HE3, and that’s a 7’0”.

that ml is rated 1/16ths to 3/8ths and I'd like to know your thoughts.
i dont have a single complaint on the casting rod i got.. this is one that they got right in my opinion.
The lineup of H3 is one that people sleep on until they get one.

I'd buy the entire lineup if I could afford it, especially the way others talk about them. I have an original LTA and if the H3's are synced much better, then

Got the rod today, took it fishing and caught 3 fish.

Its a good rod for $200, I like the guides and the sensitivity is excellent, I would say its almost GLX worthy.
Change the materials on the blank to Fuji SIC and a better reel seat at it would be awesome..

But its no NRX or Addermine, but it will do its job as a ned rig rod.

When you consider the price point nothing comes close. Adding on tisic guides and your upping the price. That being said it isn’t some basic stick but for me it’s more like the sleeper car at the drag strip that everyone bets against until they see who comes across the finish line first. The sensitivity is by far better than
most sticks alone. I’m a biased St. Croix Legend elite fan and i’m glad to see the recent accolades in the TT.com review but those sticks are easily another 125 bucks on top of what the H3 cost. Another feature of this rod is the backbone. It is not a wet noodle in my hands but when i set the hook i’m not lacking power.
The guide size doesn’t bother me as i have the casting version and even still it’s light in weight.
For those looking for my bang for your money it’s certainly a stick worth looking at.

All that being said Out of curiosity i ordered a daiwa B. Eherler rod from 1/8 -1 oz just to appease my curiosity
both times it’s shiwn up here it was sold relatively quick in relation to when they came out. so i will do a comeparison to that rod as well

Agreed Goldrod.

I also need to fish it more to see what it truly has but sensitivity was the first thing I noticed.
When I cast I can feel the line going through the guides....kinda hard to explain .

What line are you running?

I'm using Fins 40g 5lb, the guides are kinda noisy but hopefully that wears in after time.
