This rod is great.. I love it and I have been using a pxtr on it but ultimately went to the faithful curado 50e with the KTF spool
Im throwing 1/8 jk shakey heads with the wire hook.. Its just excellent for shakey heads and drop shots. I didnt want to say much until i got a fish on in terms of the backbone and THIS rod has plenty of back bone yet your able to let the load of the rod pin the fish without ripping out fine wire hooks. You can dropshot , and even topwater with this rod. I know many of you are looking for a BFS rod and this rod is just right for me.. Very versatile and the blank is sensitive. If you can't detect that you have a bite with this rod, you would have to be dead because bites will wake you out your sleep. Of course wacky rigging is not a problem and you have the accuracy to skip a dock with it. The guides are what I think are semi micro not really small but very close.. They could be micros but I dont know for sure i'll have to reread the description of the rod once more..
Bottom Line VERY VERY good rod for just about any finesse technique you can think of.
I want another one but first I need to try the daiwa Brent Eheler rod 1/8-1 oz.. Huge weight range for me
I was looking at a used rod of a different brand but its near the same price as this rod new.. Im also going to look in the dreaded Mega bass line up.. I think i got it wrong with the pxtr because its a lot more than a finesse reel.. so in the MB line up im looking for something different..
