What’s your Finesse spinning rod?
Re: What’s your Finesse spinning rod?
Received a Kistler Helium 3 7'0" ML Fast spinning rod this morning. Looks great paired up with a Stradic FK, can't wait to get some time with it on the water once we thaw out here in Iowa.
Re: What’s your Finesse spinning rod?
St Croix legend elite 7'6" MLXF for hair jigs.

Daiwa Heartland Saegake.

I have the one I use and the other is the exact same rod still with tags and in plastic. They are HARD to find so when I came across the backup, I jumped at the chance. It's a great rod!DavidSA wrote:I went and checked. appears mine a Fenwich ET Smallmouth 6'9 ML- F as well. Has lower weight limit of 1/6th oz and weights in at about 3.4oz on my scale. I sold off a far more expensive rod when I happened along this rod. Could well be that one of the 2 prior gentleman put me onto this rod. Certainly someone did because it is the only Fenwich rod I've ever held. I recollect thinking a 1/16oz lower lure rating was what I wanted in a finesse spinning bass rod; though I have no idea how I arrived at that.Big-Bass wrote:Fenwick ET Smallmouth 6'9" ML

My finesse spinning rods are a Megabass X4 Hyena F1-70X4S, Megabass Phase III Aaron Martens Limited and Gloomis NRX 842 S SJR.
If you want a slightly stouter rod for t-rigs and finesse jigs the Gloomis GLX or NRX 802S or St Croix Legend Tournament Bass 6'8" M XF are good choices.

Thanks for the epiphany captain obvious

I am using a Megabass destroyer addermine with a 2500 Stradic ci4+. Awesome all around finess rod. 10-15 lb braid w/ 6-8 lb floro leader gets it done day in and day out.

Edge BWS DS 6100-1 Black Widow Drop Shot paired with a Daiwa Exist.
Re: What’s your Finesse spinning rod?
Mine is a inexpensive custom build on a MHX Shooter CS722 blank. I had it built for Midwest Finesse stuff, but it gets used for all my general "rough and tumble" finesse fishing. I like the rod a lot and I like even more that I can take it rock-hopping without having to worry too much.
It's a bit of an ugly duckling but with a 1000 Ci4+ on it, it's nice and light for lugging around and at 6' is a breeze to bushwack with. I keep thinking about upgrading it but I really like the little guy too much too.

Daiwa 2016 Generation Black Short Bite Special 603LFS. Have it paired with a 09 Caldia 2004. Find the 3 piece configuration useful for travelling and it's a blast to fish with.

Looks very nice. I have found only moderate correlation of price to performance in light powered spinning rods. If it works for you stick with it.

My spinning rods are very specialized. Any finesse stuff other than DS is BFS duty.

Evergreen Kaleido Designo Mach 1 is my favorite finesse spin rod. 6'3", Light, Fast, 1/64-1/8, 2-6 lbs line rating. I usually spool it with 4lb Abrazx or Shooter. The biggest fight was an 18 lb carp foul hooked on the dorsal fin
