Megabass Orochi XX... What’s next for the USDM??
Now that it’s known the XX rods seem to be going out of production, anybody care to speculate on what’s next, and when we will see it? Or, since the Destroyer USA rods are so darn good, maybe there won’t be a series to replace the XX sticks?
Though I didn’t get out as much as usual this year due to a lingering case of tendinitis, I ended up using and trying out a bunch of different rods across a few brands. By far, the Destroyer USA series was the best and very worthwhile. However, I would like to see Megabass also discontinue the Levante series and bring out a series in the $175-225 price point to compete with some of the other US companies who are making affordable rods that perform well.

You are assuming the XX rods are going out of production............
There will be some exciting new products coming out from MB in the very near future. When I get the OK to share I will do so on here.
Thanks and I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving.

I am pretty excited about what is coming soon. The USDM market is strong and MB is committed to continuing g to develop product for this market. Let the holiday weekend pass and I will see what I can share possibly.MediumHeavy wrote:Yes, which is what I gather from them going on sale until supplies last, coming straight from the Megabass America instagram.

I have a pair of XX rods and really like them. $300 is about the sweet spot for me, high enough that I will think long and hard about buying, but low enough that I can splurge on one without feeling too bad about buying yet another rod.
I hope MB can keep a usdm line at around that price point, but offer some of the variety shown in their jdm lines. There are a ton of their rods I would love to try out, but $400+ is a bridge too far for me to take a chance on a rod that likely has 90% overlap with ones I already own.

I’m both excited to see what’s next and also horrified. I have a bunch of Orochi XX rods that I really enjoy, I don’t want to end up feeling like I need to upgrade them all to whatever is next! My rod rack is also full and I have more rods then I can reasonably take out at one time.

Ok here is the scoop...I got permission to share publicly....the Orochi XX series is NOT going away. There will be a new generation XX series that will debut at Bassmaster Classic in a couple.of months. Can't share any other details on components and models but rest assured if you are a XX fan you will be very happy with the new generation.
This is not rumor or speculation. It is directly from the source.
Thanks.
