Advice in crankbait rod... but... two pieces...

Post by Ceasar » Wed Oct 04, 2017 12:15 pm

Some references in specifications:
at least 6'6", 7'4" maximum.
1/6 - 3/4oz
12 - 25 lbs
JDM or USDM
need to pack 43" maximum, thinking about a two pieces rod.

My budget is around $200, but I don't mind paying less ;) Thanks in advance!

I kid you not:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fenwick-CASTING ... 1438.l2649

I use this for lipless crankbaits.

Like others have said, need a bit more info. What size crankbaits? How short do you need it to pack? Budget?

I'm not sure if you meant 1/16th or 1/6th. Either way, you're going to have a difficult time finding a rod of any sorts that will handle any type of bait that light, yet also handle three quarters of an ounce. Maybe a typo?
Here's a couple lines of 2 piece rods to have a look at.
Daiwa Cronos - The 6'6 is a medium treble hook rod
Major Craft Speedstyle - They have a glass composite rod in the line up
Tailwalk Fullrange CC
Tailwalk Backhoo Rise
Shimano Expride
You won't find many Usdm, mid to high end 2 piece options. Maybe one of the 13 fishing 2 piece Omen Blacks.

guys...
it is being hard to find a good two piece cranckbait rod with reasonable price. My choice until now is the Wild Wild Carrot Stix rod model C2WX662M-MF-C (https://www.carrotstix.com/product/c2wx662m-mf-c/). Please, I need opinions about the Wild Carrot Stix rod and if somebody has another opinion in a two-piece rod for my needs, I will be glad to hear your opinions(I will fish spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, topwater, also…). My budget is $150. Thanks in advance!

Digitaka were selling the Silverwolf series for an excellent price. Good rods but may be a little lighter than your needs. 7'2" LB-S. Good luck.

Skip the carrot and get a Daiwa. You can find a 6'6 two piece Cronos or Airedge for 150 bucks. I'll post a link for the Cronos in a bit.
