Daiwa Cronos 7'6" F vs. XF?

Post by Big-Bass » Sun Oct 01, 2017 6:16 pm

Anyone use either? What is the rod Feider uses for hair jigs? Looking to pair with a Luvias 3012H. Thanks!

I have both and love them. I use them from everything to ned rig, drop shot, hair jigs, neko and small jerkbaits and topwaters.
I have paired with Ballistics EX's. Waiting for the Ballistic LT to come out .

Good to hear...on the XF...what does the ST mean at the end of the model name? What do you use the F for versus the XF? Could both do the same stuff as far as hair jigs, neds, and ds? The F seems to have a smaller/thinner back blank compared to the XF. Thanks!

The st stands for stinger/solid tip. I have the fast action and use it for weedless dropshot rigs, flukes, spring baby shads, spy baits, shakyheads, Ned rigs and wacky rigs. It's very versatile. Seth has a tatula signature rod. Thinks it's a fast action. Could be wrong about the action. I know he designed it for hair jigs

I use the XF for ned rigs and drops shotting. I love the XF for light ned rigs in deep water. I will fish a 1/10 down to 30 feet with now problem. The F I use for just about everything.

I have both now (both arrived together) and have fished the XF so far and like it very much. Love the front grip. The F seems awesome (and it was the original reason I bought both). I have a Procyon 3000 for it and a Luvias 3012 on the other. Very pleased!

Glad your happy with them. =D> =D>

I think they are some of the most under rated rods out there.

I wonder how much better the Feider Tatula AGS rod is as far as sensitivity with the AGS guides vs. the Alconites on the Cronos? I got both of mine (Cronos) for $133 a piece shipped so I am very happy.

I have handled the AGS rod and it seems a little stiffer in the tip as the Cronos do. It does seem lighter because the AGS guides. I might get when just to try but not sure it will be much better then the Cronos for the extra money.
