Newest Gloomis GLX 782c MBR vs 842c MBR ?
Looking for anyone who has fished both please. Are they in essence the same rod only differing in length? Looking at one or the other for light bass, inshore flats work. Thanks in advance for replies.

Re: Newest Gloomis GLX 782c MBR vs 842c MBR ?
I've fished them both and like the previous versions, due to the length of the 782, it feels a shade, every so slightly more stout than the 842 in my hands. The new GLX 842 quickly became a permanent fixture in my line up as I really love how this rod feels and fishes overall. The NRX version is incredible too, but since being discontinued, has become difficult to find and has been increasing in price. The new Conquest rod in the 842 version certainly has my attention too

I have the 842 MBR and its a awesome rod, very sensitive and light but also very strong.
One of my favorites.

What techniques do you guys feel the 842 excels at?

I been using mine for small jerkbaits/shallow crankbaits and spybaits the most.

Any lure that is within its listed lure weight, extremely versatile rods. I throw jerkbaits, topwater, crankbaits, jigs, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, etc. on mine, but it's the NRX version.sweden14 wrote:What techniques do you guys feel the 842 excels at?
