How about Concept C with the Conquest Rod??? Have you tried it before???.

how small the Bantam MGL to Concept C???.

WW
My reels are Daiwa, Shimano, or Megabass. I have no information about the Concept C or a size comparison. The Bantam MGL is a much smaller reel than most folks expect in my experience, and a very impressive one at that!
Thank you, Sir!!!

Hope Cal will help out on this since he gets everything I mentioned :)

I have a Bantam Mgl on my CNQ 904c and it's a great combo. Sorry, I don't have a concept c to compare. The Bantam is a very solid reel.

Hey guys,

I'm thinking about upgrading from NRX to Conquest. Ideally, I would like to have a rod with the power between my NRX 852C JWR and NRX 843C MBR, I also have the NRX 842C MBR but it's just too wimpy in both tip and backbone power. After reading this thread it sounds like the Conquest 842C might be just what I'm looking for. I would be switching rods a lot less if so. Some of what I use is 1/4 and 3/8 chatterbait with and without trailers a lot , but also like to throw 4-in. and 5-in. Senkos, and 1/4 and 3/8 jigs too.

Does anyone have experience with the NRX 852C JWR, NRX 843C MBR and the Conquest 842C? what do you think?

Thanks

depending on the cover id get the 843 for jigs, the 842 too light imo.

I have the 842 and 843, and the 842 throws 1/4 ounce baits far better than the 843....i don't pull out the 843 until I get to 1/2 ounce.

Thanks for the information, just to be clear, your 842 and 843 is the Conquest models and not NRX? I have the NRX 842C and have relegated it to pond fishing for bluegill and sunfish.

I don't see how to do multiple quotes on this board, so a big thanks to "cndbasshunter" too.

I've caught more bull redfish on the 842NRX than any that I own  It's so difficult to recommend rods on here, everybody fishes things differently. Everything you named is right in the NRX's range in my hands, except for a 3/8oz skirted jig with heavy hook, light wire isn't an issue. The tip isn't as light on the Conquest, which makes it feel a little more powerful. Might also want to look into 842 GLX, as it is a little stiffer and definitely more powerful than NRX. Or just get another 843 NRX. Really like to hear some solid numbers on the differences between series.

Here's some 842 NRX in action, fishing a 3/8oz ball head jig and small swimbait, ripping through some turtle grass. Just gotta set that hook like you mean it! 8-)

Excellent Video and thanks for sharing.

Anyway it looks like you were putting some sort of black rubber tube or Eva on the rod grip/handle ??? or something is wrong with my eyes.

Thanks,
WW

Thank you guys, I appreciate it. That fish put on a show when I set the hook, and was lucky to get it all in the frame!

Wirinhar- That grip is called Accu-Cull Grip Saver, basically a rubberized heat shrink wrap for rod handles. I liked it at first, but once it started to wear, would blister my hands badly when they got wet.
