Re: Gloomis rod above NRX????!!!!!
Just read the TT preview, rods seem really nice.
Good to see the guides appear to be full size, not micro (as mentioned in that other thread). Nice that they're MBR tapers too.
Kudos to TT for addressing the sensitivity and how they compare to NRX right off the bat. Wonder how they stack up to GLX, sensitivity & weight wise.

Re: Gloomis rod above NRX????!!!!!
I read the review. Said they're lighter than the nrx but my 852 is 3.7oz, 893 is 3.9oz & 873 is 4.2oz so that doesn't bother me. The action lengths are nothing special, recoil guides and split grips doesn't bother me one bit. I don't see this rod being a hit. Thank goodness their review said sensitivity was on par wit nrx and NOT better, so i dont feel the need to upgrade.

Re: Gloomis rod above NRX????!!!!!
I agree. Really how much more sensitive could a rod get than NRX or other high end blanks. The other Shimano tech excites me as well. I know from owning and fishing an Asquith fly rod (similar Shimano blank tech) ,as well as their Poison Glorious and Ultima lines, that the blanks will be great! I'm excited to see this tech in the classic actions. For me spending the $$$ is far better for a rod I can use for many techniques. I'll be watching this tread closely. Let's face it, I'll own one soon. Lolcndbasshunter wrote:Wait till you fish one.Hennessy wrote:I read the review. There are lots of folks that don't like recoil guides, split grips, etc. And since when were the MBR / SJR actions nothing special? Not sure which lengths you'd want either? Add Spiral X / Hi-Power X from Shimano Japan PLUS Torzite Guides to legendary G. Loomis.. I'm sorry, but I respectfully disagree.. I think these rods are going to be a hit. I've got a spot reserved for one in my lineup. Can't wait to get my hands on one.Hennessy wrote:I read the review.
