Hi guys, I'm interested in purchasing the Daemos but I'm not sure if its the right rod for the application. I will be pairing this rod up with the shimano core. I will primarily be using this rod for 3/16 oz owner ultra head with a keitech easy shiner or swing impact, t rigs such as 1/8 oz-1/4 with brush hogs and occasionally a 3/8oz jig maybe a 1/2oz jig. The most important thing for me is that the rod can handle these weights and sensitivity. My main jig and plastics rod is an nrx 853, that is my jig rod and i don't want to lose much sensitivity switching to my swimbait/plastics rod which might be the daemos. I will be upgrading from a mojo bass 7 foot med
fast action. any other recommendations will be considered but i want to purchase my first mega bass rod price range is around 425ish. Another rod i was looking at was the Nrx med hvy 843c mbr. thanks for your time guys

Without jacking Antonio's thread can someone tell me what is the closest rod to the Daemos in the destroyer family in regards to taper and power? I think this can help both of us. :)

Possibly the X7 Extreme Mission.
For the intended purpose of moving bait, the diablo rods are designed for those applications. But they're mostly med fast taper.

What line size are you planning to throw?
For those lure weights you might want to step down a power. Maybe a F4 will suit on the heavy side. A F3 for the lighter use. I can throw 1/8-3/8 just fine with a F3. 3/16 or 1/4 with 10lb fc is the sweet spot on my Phase 3 Griffon.

I think the daemos would suit you fine, but as stated above you could also power down. I don't have personal experience yet with 17' Destroyer line yet, but the specs should suit your needs just fine and then some. Also as stated above line choice is paramount for your techz you want to throw. Could just get multiple spools :big grin:

I ended up getting the nrx 843 mag bass. I ended up fishing it today a little and the fast action is perfect for what I wanted to do. I threw some keitcehs 3.8 fat with a 3/16 oz jig head and the sensitivity was incredible. Threw a jig and fished it and worked great, same with a swim jig. This rod is the perfect upgrade to the mojo bass I was using . Highly recommended- I will be getting a megabass fmj before the years over for 1/2 oz jigs and up.

the NRX 843 is a great stick, but i hate the ergonomics. sensitivity is tough to beat. i love fishing keitech fats on 1/4oz jigheads with it. med trebles, 3/16-1/4 t-rig and jigs.

Daemos is a very different rod. ive only fished it for about 12 hrs or so but id say its better than the 843 for 1/2oz single hook moving baits like spinnerbaits and chatterbaits, 1/4-3/8oz jigs and t-rigs. 1/2oz lead plus plastic is very doable but not ideal IMO.

I just got a Daemos and have only gotten to try it once but I love it. I used it for swim jigs and small belly weighted swimbaits like 3.8 Fat Swing Impacts or 4" Swimming Caffeine Shads and it worked great. I'm really glad it doesn't have the micro guides like the XX as I fish a lot of very clear water and like to use braid and a fluoro leader and no problems there. Awesome balance and sensitivity too. Really looking forward to taking it out again hopefully tomorrow.

I have this rod also, I like it alot but its best suited for 1/2 and up spinnerbaits/chatterbaits. You can throw lighter baits with it but its not intended to be a light bait rod. I throw lighter baits on the jerkbait special Orochi XX now thats a killer rod. I like the Daemos and ill keep it but if had to it over i would get the OneTen. The Daemos is a very stiff rod i like a more parabolic action with reaction baits. Hope this helps.

The daemos is one awesome stick and suits my style perfectly. As stated before awesome sensitivity and perfect for single hook moving Baits. Great spinner, chatter and swim jig rod. Can also be used for 1/4-3/8 oz bullet wights plus plastic. Very versitile. My opinion, it’s a little faster than the xx Diablo. Which is great when using its versitality for bottom contact Baits as well. Highly reccomended.

I've had the Daemos all year and all I can say is that it is one versatile rod. It excels at swim jigs, lipless, vibrating jigs and can even double as a bottom contact rod for tubes, fball jigs and swing heads. I wish I had a second one!

I have been loving my Daemos, been using it for swim jigs, Senkos, and Spinnerbaits. Still exploring the possibilities.
