Poison Adrena Rods

Post by bassbassontherange » Sun Apr 09, 2017 8:22 am

I know they're discontinued, but I was wondering from those who've owned this line, how do they compare vs some of the other nicer rods? I have an opportunity to pick up two of them NEW for $150/pc... 6'6 MH and the 6'10" glass.

Any help is appreciated.

I'm most familiar with St. Croix, Gloomis, and Megabass rods.

I have the 6'6mh and it's a great multi purpose rod! If you pass on it? Let me know. Because I'll buy it for a 150 bucks. I throw 3/16oz Texas rigged plastics on it. It's not a Loomis NRX or the new glx. But, it's an excellent rod. And for that price; impossible to beat. Honestly, if you pass on it; which you shouldn't.Let me know. I am looking to pick up another one.

For that price. BUY THEM! Light as a feather. I own the 6'6MH. Very sensitive and a good general purpose rod. Powerful. Not as sensitive as my new Glx 853c but it's a great rod. Especially for that price. You if decide to go in a different direction? Could you pass that deal on to me? But, you really shouldn't pass on this deal. Good luck with your decision.

Thanks for the replies. I went ahead and picked both up even before you guys gave your feedback. I'm going to get them on the water on Wednesday. If I decide to resell, you'll be the first two to know.

Anyone use the 6'10" glass?

166MH is a great jig and texas rig, plus I used it with lipless cranks, very well balanced and I can't complaint about sensitivity.

LMK about that glass rod.

I have the 6'10" glass and I love throwing it. I use it for shallow cranks, shallow jerks and small top water. Pretty much anything moving under 10 feet with treble hooks.

I love these rods. One of the few production rods that's ever peeked my interest. For 150 bucks, it's a steal

I have the 6'10" and it's very nice. I was just at Neuse River Sportshop on Wednesday in North Carolina, and they had their Poison Adrena rods 50% off. Mostly the 6'6" M. They also had some Expride rods 50% off. Might be worth calling them if you're interested.

I should have picked up one or two but didn't.. I'm good on rods. Now reels on the other hand.....
