Does anyone use these rods? What are they designed for? Any input would be awesome! Thanks and best wishes on the water.

Designed for walleye applications I believe, with a little slower overall taper.

I just ordered one from Cabelas and got it the other day, 7'2" ML mod fast. I have not been able to use it yet since we are still frozen up in MN. I bought it for a 2nd dropshot rod, wanted something a little longer than my Orochi dropshot special. It seems like it will do well. Seems more like a fast action than the mod fast it claims, fairly light tip as well which should be good for my usage. Very well balanced rod, and light weight wise. With not being able to fish it thats about the most info i got for ya.

What reel are you matching the rod to?

I won the 6'9" ML in a 13 Fishing Facebook contest last year in March. I used it for jerkbaits and it worked fairly well for that. Problem is I prefer to use casting gear, so it wasn't exactly a go to set up for me. I think I'm going to try drop shotting with it some this year.

I have put a few different reels on it, actually settled on one of the new One3 Creed GT on it in 3000 size. I tried a few of the daiwa 2500 sizes as well as the 3000 and all felt good. It is a light and well balanced rod from just holding it. It does feel like more of a fast taper vs the mod fast it claims to be, but again i have not fished it yet so could be totally different when a fish is on.
