They were built fairly well for their price point and seemed very durable, but just about every other aspect of the rod wasn't at all good in my opinion. To each their own, he's obviously using them and catching fish. Hopefully the money or whatever was worth it.

Just goes to prove how the tackle doesn't make up for skill. If you're good, you're still good with poorer gear, maybe just not enjoying the fishing experience as much. Bank account happy though.
