Cal's Kistler Z-Bone Review Dated 10/2016

Post by tacklejunkie2 » Thu Oct 06, 2016 4:18 am

Just finished reading reading Cal's review of the Kistler Z-Bone LEXF-3MH-70. I noticed a slight difference in specs when I went to the Kistler website. Cal listed the rod as LEXF-3MH with a lure rating of 1/4 - 3/4 oz. The Kistler website doesn't show this rod. However, they do show a LEXF-4MH with a lure rating of 3/8 - 7/8 oz. Are these the same rods or did Cal review a new rod that hasn't been added to the Kistler website?

A 3 power Z-Bone would be nice, maybe a new model?

There was the same kind of issue with the review of the St Croix Legend Elite. The specs were posted as 6-12, but that rod does not exist in St Croix's site. On closer inspection, the first picture says "ES70MF". That model is on the site, but it's a spinning rod. Cal definitely is using a casting rod. Typo??

If you post this down in the TT reviews section they will likely see it and correct the review.

The TT review section is the first place I posted this topic. I'm thinking it's probably a typo, but we'll never know unless Cal provides his input.

They used to make the MH rods in a 3 power and a 4. My understanding is the rod in question has been discontinued. Just the 4 power now.

I've got 4 of the 3 power ZBones, it's my most used rod, I can't believe they discontinued it!

I'm not so sure that the Z Bone LEXF 3 MH (1/4 - 3/4 oz Extra Fast) has been discontinued or not. Per their website, this rod is out of stock. If a person was interested, they should make a phone call.
