Recon Elite rods

Post by JWR075 » Tue Jul 05, 2016 9:10 pm

Saw these on Vince's FB page. They include a light power casting rod (rated down to a 1/16oz) and 8' swimbait/punch rod to a 7'6" Med power spinning rod. Prices are $200 or less. Look for a release at ICast.

They almost sound like a mix between the current Recon II and the M1. At the bottom of the pictures it also mentions a composite cranking rod, not sure if that's a new series as well or a revamp of the X series.

Interesting and nice to see a BFS rod. I don't have facebook, so is there another option to see some pictures of these rods?

Hopefully these aren't huge, I'm on a phone and it's hard to tell.

Thanks Spiderguy! The butt grip looks like some of the Megabass rods I have seen. I just don't care for that kind of reel seat/trigger grip configuration.

Can someone explain the differences between Toray 46 ton and 36 ton graphite? Why is my $50 Kuying Teton L made from 46 ton Toray and this much more than $50 Recon Elite made from 36 ton Toray?

Those Kuying rods look really nice with the latest Fuji components and Toray 46T blanks, especially for the aliexpress prices.

The texture on the blank looks a lot like my Omen Black 2 which is Toray 30T. It's very possible and likey that the Kuying blanks are not 46T if they are Toray at all. When it looks too good to be true...Remember the Chinese aren't just good at faking products and components, they also fake the tags, labels and branding as well.
