KP Duty wrote:All I know is my recently received 894 feels dynamite. Reminds me more of my old bcr893 than the 893nrx that I ordered with it. I only have a couple of concept ak's at the moment to mount on them to get a feel, but I didn't think they needed any chair protectors, but I understand when folks like David want to achieve 782glx balance in all their sticks. It is nice to know it's achievable if you so desire. Anyway...I honestly was thinking of ordering that dreaded ;) 895 when I get paid because I thought my 894 felt great. I have been eating my Wheaties lately though, so I may have an advantage in wrist strength.
The 894 to me does feel great out of the wrapper and indeed adding butt weight does make it feel like my 782glx!!! This is very accurate depiction of what is going on. By the way, I have a counterweight cover with no weights on my 782glx ](*,) Covers up that pointy endcap on the old mbr series loomis and keeps me from bruising my rib cage so bad on those too rare +50 fish days.

Did a comparison between the 894 and 895 as far as balance. With a metainium xg on each one, the 894 balanced at the nose of the loomis logo, the 895 balanced at the tail of the fish logo. I'm guessing that's around 3/4" of difference. The reels had no line on them btw.

This is not a massive difference but also recall the 895 is about 20% heavier rod then the 894 and in addition you likely have a heavy weight on the end.

The butt caps I use are in the thread below.
