I know its not a Japanese rod, but the G. Loomis SJR842 is the best spinning rod I have ever used.

I have the GL3 version, but I see it is also available in the E6X line as well. is a 7 foot fast action med power rod with a fantastic taper. rated from 1/8-3/8 oz. lures.

either one would be within your budget.

just an idea. Good luck with what ever you choose. there are a ton of great spinning rods out there in that price range.

I second this! The NRX is out of this world, but this is a very, very sweet rod

Just a hair out of your range, but you can pick up a green NRX 803 or 872 from tackle warehouse for $337. Don't know what techniques your looking to use the rod for, just figured I'd mention they're on sale since you're looking.

I think the classic SJR 782GLX has to be on the short list, unless you have to have the longer rods that are so common these days....

I may have missed it, but have you stated what your desired application is for this rod? That might help identify the best for you.

I am looking for something between 6'8 med and 7ft med.Probably be for weightless t-rigs,weightless senkos(under 5 inch),and some dropshot.

The NRX 822 DSR is possible the best drop shot I have used and it doubles as a light shakey head rod for me though many would argue it is too light. The 852S might fit the bill nicely for you. I believe they make both those rods in their cheaper series as well if the NRX is out of budget. I think you would be happy with anything from the IMX series on up, and I have heard the new E6X rods are nice for the price point.
