Micro Guide rod $200

Post by Draethe84 » Sat Mar 05, 2016 1:25 pm

Hey guys looking for a medium micro guide casting rod for under $200. I will use it as an all rounder. Fishing for smallies if that helps.

Check out the Quantum Smoke rods. I have a 6'6" M that I use for pond fishing and its pretty impressive for the money.

I have the first generation Smoke rod, a 7'MH-F and I have friends that hate Quantum but like that rod. I'm not sure how close to $200 you want to go but right at $200 is the St. Croix Avid X, that rod is really nice for the money but if you have to be under that mark, the Smoke rod needs to be checked out.

You could also look at the Lexa line of rods, there are 3 micro guide rods in that line. And they're on eBay for a great price right now. If you're only looking for 1 rod, I'd say go with the Avid X. You can get 2 Lexa's for that same financial outlay at the moment though...

Falcon Bucoo Micro. Wide range of models and on sale at TW right now. I have one that I use for traps and I love it.

Great rod, and Falcon sales are few and far between. I'd jump all over this.

I had a Go Emotion for a while and really liked it. I've since gotten another Major Craft rod, a Speedstyle. Major Craft make some great rods for the money. Digitaka is great to order from also. Don't know if it matters, but just an FYI that the rod you linked to is one of the two piece models. Digitaka charges the same amount to ship a one piece rod also.

The bucoo is a great rod, as well as the BPS carbonlite.
