Loomis dropshot
Loomis dropshot
I got a good buy on a G Loomis dsr 820c. Seems very light. Anyone using this with baitcast and if so how do you like it. Thanks for any replies

I don't have the 820c but I do have the 822c. One of my favorite rods. Has a soft tip, perfect for dropshotting. I use a Shimano Core 50mg7 on mine.

I have used the 822c for small cranks and sub 1/4oz spinnerbaits, works like a dream.
Re: Loomis dropshot
I have the 820s. I use it at Erie for small mouth. I love the sensitivity especially with braid to fluro leader. It is a little light on power at times but I just adjust the drag and play the fish. The only problem I had is dropshotting largemouths around boat docks sometimes I don t have enough power to get them moved away from the posts as fast as I would like. I realize it is a light power rod but like you I also got a good deal on it. So I just have made it work. I love the sensitivity of this rod. You can feel the gobies pecking at your bait like a jackhammer. It is awesome.

I have the NRX 822 DSR and love it. Honestly I use it more for shaken heads than drop shots but love the rod.
