It's his namesake rod for crying out loud...of course. If shimano was releasing a 'Pen3' rod, you'd be pretty optimistic about it

no issues at all

CI4+ reel seats aren't really anything new. They can be found on many of the newer releases both here and in the JDM.

The Zodia, Expride and Poison Adrena all have CI4/CI4+ reel seats. I think they have been out long enough to not worry about it.
