NRX 893C

Post by romans » Mon Nov 23, 2015 9:15 am

I would like to find a rod similar to the NRX 893C but the only difference being a fast action instead of an XF. It wouldn't need to be NRX sensitive but definitely not looking for an ugly stik. I wouldn't want the replacement to be any longer than the 893 but a few inches shorter wouldn't be a big deal. I really dig the 893, I would just like a fast action counterpart to round out the arsenal. I need suggestions!

Perhaps the MB EMTF from the Orichi XX or Levante series? Should be more versatile as well. 8-)

I would put the Nautilus closer to the 893c than the Extreme Missions. The Nautilus is faster than the EM but still not an xfast. They are both about a half power stronger though.

I would go with the megabass orochi XX extreme mission type F (EMTF). Awesome rod! I have both and love how they compliment each other. Very similar power, but the EMTF definitely not x-fast in action - it is rated as fast and is an incredible rod for so many different techniques.

Sounds like the nrx 843 mag bass would be just what you are looking for.

I'd go with an X7 Extreme Mission as choice #1

It's not as fast as the NRX 893, has similar power, is very sensitive, and also much more versatile in my hands.

If the X7 on sale isn't within budget, the XX Extreme Mission Type F is also a very good option...

XX EMTF. I use it along with my 893c a lot. Seems to meet your criteria.

Great deal on the X7 EM and Gary's the best; I'd listen to him. Every recommendation he's given me has been dead on

Never used an Extreme Mission but the Nautilus fits that bill for me. More of a moderate fast action that works with both moving and bottom contact baits well whereas the NRX 893 is really too fast for moving baits.

It casts very similar to the 893. Slightly more power but also more moderate so it doesn't really feel much more powerful.

I was looking for basically a more moderate NRX 893 in the Nautilus and couldn't be happier with it

I have the 893 and the x7 extreme mission. Gary is dead on. Very similar power with the x7 having a more moderate tip making it more versatile. I take 3 rods in my yak and these 2 are always in the rotation.

Another vote for the Nautilus. Not quite as fast as the 893, more versatile, and very close in sensitivity. Will launch anything over 3/8 oz. Really is a great rod.

I have the x7 extreme mission but have only had a chance to fish it once, so I can't really comment on it yet....other than that it is gorgeous!!!!
