New Dobyns flagship rod on the horizon?
New Dobyns flagship rod on the horizon?
Usually when a rod goes on sale like the dx extreme on TW, it means a newer model is coming out. I know somebody on here knows something. Spill the beans plz.

Maybe after all these years the Zayta is going to make an appearance?

They look pretty sick!
Re: New Dobyns flagship rod on the horizon?
hmmm...i hope they improved on the sensitivity
Re: New Dobyns flagship rod on the horizon?
Just talked to Dobyns...the new Extremes are being brought in as inventory of the current models sell out... A few are in now.
I was going to order a DX 784C but now am thinking of waiting...Problem is that is a very good seller and will probably be one of the last to come in.
We have a great Smallie jig bite up here on the Great Lakes that kicks in soon and goes thru the fall...The DX 784 seems to be a perfect match for long casts in gin clear water with light fluoro...

Fuji guides instead of Kigan, different graphite, up to 3/4oz lighter overallChode wrote:sounds like it but i'd like to know what improvements r madefishingandfords wrote:So that means same price ??

Now I'm intrigued. I guess they finally got tired of replacing the guides.389Maverick wrote:Fuji guides instead of Kigan, different graphite, up to 3/4oz lighter overallChode wrote:sounds like it but i'd like to know what improvements r madefishingandfords wrote:So that means same price ??
Wonder what the new blank is. Any more hints?

Although I sold all of my DX's, these revamps do have my attention.

Doesn't matter what they do. I'll have to stick with what I have.
I have to keep away until the exchange rate on the $ gets better.

My newest DX is a 746 but I would love to add a new model to compare

I'm excited to see what they have to offer, but I was really hoping for that higher end model we've been hearing about for years. Don't get me wrong, I love both my DX rods, but since tapping that keg on NRX's and Custom's, my use of the DX as bottom contact has slowed.
