Champion. For moving baits they are perfect. Bottom contact I'd want a DX but the champion line has cranking swimbait jerkbait flip pitch punch finesse etc.
Re: if you had to use one line of rod what would you choose?
I'd have the DX for bottom contact stuff and the Champs for moving baits.

Out of those 4, I'd choose DX for bottom contact and Champ for everything else. I still love my Dobyns, but slowly adding in XX which I think surpass the DX.
Re: if you had to use one line of rod what would you choose?
I've never had the opportunity to hold any megabass rods but it looks like a better order one up.
Re: if you had to use one line of rod what would you choose?
Why choose 1 line of rods? There are gems within each line. These are what I try to seek out. Some examples are NRX 852, 893, 894, 822 DSR, Kistler Zbone LE 5 power 7'6", MB X7 Super Eiger, MB X4 Destruction, 110, Black Elseil, Dobyns Champion 704 Glass and 705 Glass, DX 702 SF. If I fished only one line, I would be missing out on some sweet rods.

I just like the thought of having all the same rods with the same reels but you have a valid point and I do agree with you no one company makes the best for everything we do on the water.

Champion. There are more SKU's than just about any manufacturer in that series. You can get pretty darn specific in what you want in the Champion line.

Pretty much. With Dobyns you have to stick with the mediocrity (Like the SF 49ers ) in sensitivity of the Champ lineup to get a good all around lineup. I love my Champ 765CB, but it's not as sensitive as the XX. Go DX and you dont have any crank or big bait rods. The XX lineup is more sensitive than the DX and much more rounded out. I was going all in on the DX/Champ lines until the XX came out.cndbasshunter wrote:Easy XX !
