St Croix at icast?
Re: St Croix at icast?
Mojo rods got an upgrade in their blank. They now use SCIII instead of SCII.

Very cool. Wonder if it will translate into the muskie line.

Avid inshore new color and guides. I loved the old brown color, but i like the new seafoam color too. Kinda throwback. One thing I've been seeing with thier rods that I don't care for is the large black winding check where the blank meets the grips like the avid x. I would prefer a metal. Otherwise st croix really stepped it up this year IMO

Re: St Croix at icast?
Is there a performance bump somewhere with the new Avid Inshore? I'm not seeing it... looks like all the same blank tech.
Also they ditched their lifetime warranty on the Avid so I might buy a bronze rod while they're still out.

St Croix rods take home 2 awards. Best fly rod and best saltwater rod.

Little video showing the new elites-
http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/ICAST15. ... STCROIX15B
For me- this is the 2015 iCast bell of the ball.
Some mfg details- 57 new LE models, including musky, pike, salmon & steelhead.
(I hope there's one that has a 4oz+ lure rating- I want a LE swimbait rod )

Re: St Croix at icast?
The news section of their website states it will retail $370-$550.
Re: St Croix at icast?
Virtually certain it will mirror current selection/specs and price close too (I counted 53 currently I think so maybe 4 new sizes). Curious to see on of these, but I converted to all Loomis GLX last couple years. St. Croix handles are pretty narrow on LE's when I held one last Fall. Wonder if still that way?spookybaits wrote:Have they released the list of all the new LE models & specs yet?

Re: St Croix at icast?
Emailed St. Croix about these-
Website will be updated in next week or 2 with all the models, and he said they should be available for sale in beginning of September.
Also suggested they make a full bass line up of these- from finesse to moderate crankbait rods, swimbait rods, etc.
he agreed, thought it was a great idea and was gonna pass it on up the line.
That would be awesome, Imo these are they're best rods to date.

Re: St Croix at icast?
I'm also a little surprised these haven't gotten more attention. I thought for sure these would win best rod at iCast.
TT hasn't even mentioned them, can't find hardly anything about them on line.
Ultra sensitive blanks, titanium frames with torzite guides, full cork grip, new Fuji pts reel seats, and absolutely beautiful & classy looking on top of all that. And- they're coming in at the $350 price point.
If they made a full lineup, I could see myself switching completely over to these. They tick all the boxes and the price is very reasonable.
I'm getting the 6'8 m xf, 7mh F, and maybe one of the musky rods for swimbaits if they have the same pts reel seat.

Re: St Croix at icast?
They didn't update or add new models to Legend Tournament Bass, did they?
Re: St Croix at icast?
While you guys are waiting for St. Croix to update their website, and since the rods won't be available until early September why not order the 2016 brochure now. It has all the new model variations listed. Received mine about a week ago - and it took less than a week to get, although they are only 830 miles away.
