No. 8 Blackout Rods

Post by IlliniDawg01 » Sun Apr 26, 2015 4:07 am

Anyone tried one of these interesting looking sticks yet?

13's new value line. Looks a lot like some of the Megabass rods but at a price under $100.

Damn, that thing looks pretty good. I didn't check on the guides being used but the spinning rod looks to be a nice minimalistic design. Hope they do well with them.

Guides are tangle free zirconium so they should work well if they aren't huge (they look about right in the pictures).

If the blanks and build quality are decent they should be pretty nice rods... especially for the money.

They look great, hopefully I can find one locally to get my hands on. Interested to hear how they fish.

No Fleet Farms around me. I've checked Dicks and Field and Stream. Gander has them on their website, but the link didn't work the other day. I'll have to stop by to see if they have them in-store, but they never carried the 13 Fishing stuff locally, despite having them on their site.

The stores in Pittsburgh have absolutely no selection for us unless you want a st croix mojo.

Yeah, I hear ya. So much of the same stuff at every retailer. At least the Field & Stream stores carry 13 Fishing stuff and Megabass lures. I really want to check out these Blackout rods, though. If they fish as half as good as they look, I can't build my own rod for that price.

I'd like to handle one of their HellBent Inshore Rods. For $70 they seem nice.
