Had my new 842s out yesterday for the first time and I could not be happier. For me, this is ultimate 1/8-3/8 oz shakeyhead rod and crazy sensitive - on par with my 893c. I wanted a little more backbone and slightly faster action than the 822syr and the 842s nails it. BTW, It was great for megabass 110 jerkbait use.

Older thread, but I was looking at an 842S in the shop today - but it was an MR, not a JWR. I couldn't find it in the catalog they had so not sure if it's an older model?

Have really been looking at 852s/872s JWR and leaning towards the 872 for the ever so slightly softer tip. To be used for 4" zoom finesse worms, roboworms, 2.5-4" tubes, maybe a weightless 5" senko (although I throw those on a 893c normally) and the occasional dropshot. I emphasize occasional because I am in Florida, and don't really expect to throw a drop shop very much, if at all - but would like to if the situation presented itself ;). But not finding this MR rod listed I'm not sure much about it. Anyone familiar with the this one?

EDIT - oh I think I found it, it's the inshore series.. that's why it wasn't in the catalog I was looking at.
