Heavy Jig Rod Recommendation
I need some rod recommendations for jigs from 3/8oz. - 1.5oz. I'd like to find a rod that is sensitive and has a good tip. I currently have a Megabass Perfect Pitch, a Dobyns DX 744 and a NRX 893. I'd most likely use the rod for large football jigs 3/4oz. and above. I was thinking about the DX 745, but I can't make up my mind. Does anyone have any on the water experience with a rod that meets this criteria? Thanks in advance.

NRX 895. My buddy has one...the real deal.
Re: Heavy Jig Rod Recommendation
DX745 is not a rod i'd feel comfortable /w throwing 1oz jigs let alone 1.5oz. it could probably throw them but it would feel overworked.
Haven't used the NRX895. I have the 894. Best jig rod i've ever used for 3/8-3/4. I think the rod could handle 1oz but i've honestly never tried. i almost always use a 1/2oz jig in brush/laydowns/cover /w it.
I would imagine the 895 would be the most ideal in throwing the heavier weights but i've never used one.
The DX795 has the right tip to throw those weight ranges but it isn't as sensitive as the NRX.
sorry it isn't a perfect answer but i hope that helps narrow it down.

Powell 764 or maybe even the 765

Not a fan of the dobyns DX line up. I feel like they are over rated and over priced for what you get.
I currently throw my C-rigs on an ALX dragger (until I build a custom to replace it) which is a pretty sweet rod.
For the rods you mentioned in your budget you could always go the custom route as well.

Re: Heavy Jig Rod Recommendation
I recommend a Kistler Helium3 Heavy 7'-3" X- Fast 3/8 - 1.5 oz. 17-35lb. test line @ $269.95 This is the rod you are looking for!!
Love my rod for football heads only but it works good for a swimbait and a big spoon.
