Better business plan. Or bigger balls... Whatever it is it's working and they are taking the market by storm. Who else has ever done this?
carrot stix :big grin:
Your reaching there. No reels, no high end, terrible quality and at least while I worked for Cabela's they rarely took care of there customers. Good try though, I see where you were coming from ;)

We need more info
If they were available for preorder, I'd already be jumping on one

If I recall correctly Dobyns had a setback with a patent on the 3M material they were using in the rod.

For me personally, I would not buy one immediately. Too new to price a rod at over 600 bones. You are talking custom price there.

Agreed.
After spending an hour or so yesterday surfing through rakuten, jdm rod mfgs & e-tailers I found a handful of rods with torzite guides, at descend prices to boot. Shipping cost will definitely add to the price but still way south of $600

I'm on the bandwagon!

Yeah you can get other rods with torzite guides, but you aren't going to get anywhere near the customer support that you are going to get with 13 Fishing.

$500-550 for Torzites, the best blank in the business and Y'all know how Gorgeous Borges looks after anglers :-)

With his record among Phenix users in this forum no one is. Keep in mind this is a record of service extended beyond both our time on TTF and indeed some other brands.

Also, why would sales of a rod in the US affect an importer? :-k

That said, Matt has been an excellent ambassador for 13. Always prompt and informative so $999 or not I'm sure great service will be a prerequisite for the USDM

IMO, the true mark of a factory rod's "greatness" in the $500+ range is RESALE...

Whilst I don't have a crystal ball - I wouldn't wager that the Archangel will have the kind of resale value seen on classic JDM MB, Evergreen, Daiko, etc.

...I've seen prices offered on Evo Diablos and cried...
Likewise for the jabberwock slant bridge. It's one of those rods where I'll hunt down on Tackleberry and get refurbished...not caring if it's more than $600 ;-)

I would love to try one out, but I cant see myself ever spending more than like 300 on a rod. Maybe if I wasnt stuck bank banging and river wading I would, but I would pry rage out of control if I broke a 500$ rod making a mistake lol.
