Phenix at ICast
Phenix is coming out with four new lines of rods at ICast. Plus they will be adding new models to existing lines. Two of the new lines are going to be bass rods. The much anticipated high end rod being built on the K2 blank will be coming out. Then a line that is called Maxim which will start around $99.

K2 rod should be interesting. Just hope they do it right.

I hope it's a minimalist build with micro guides and without an ACS. I'd almost have to buy one if it is.
I also hope it's tastefully done like the Recon 2. All of their other rods are gaudy. Mixing EVA, cork and compressed cork on the same rod is AWFUL.

I hope it has a full slim eva handle, like the Recon 766. Throw in K-SiC's, custom skeleton seat...mmm...

Re: Phenix at ICast
Stoked to here about the K2 production rods. I currently have a Steez looking for a permanent home, and have wanted to fish a K2 blank for some time...looks like a new T-rig rod for me.
This is going to be an expensive winter.

I've been waiting for the K2 production rods for a year now..
I think Torzites are a better fit for this rod than SiC's, dont you think?

I've seen pics and the blank looks like its unsanded. The handle kind of reminds me of the Iron feather handle.

I'd be surprised if they leave them unsanded and sand the ones they sell as blanks. I'd guess they are all being treated the same as they leave the factory…but I do like the uniqueness of my unsanded one more.
