Unless you're going for a specific look or color appointment, IMO the K2 will be about perfect off the rack (providing they follow through on the tweaks they mentioned at the show). You have to handle one to truly appreciate how nice it actually feels and handles.

One of my top three rods I played with at ICast (and the most affordable) :D

Thats great news. The nicest rods ive used are cumulus, cumara, and dobyns dx rods so this should be a huge upgrade. Ive got my eye on the 683 casting model :big grin:

Been fishing one very close to that spec for a while, it's unnerving casting a rod so light, it feels like a BFS rod in hand. It created a new tier of rods Australia. Super excited.

I emailed phenix this morning so hopefully i hear back. While on there website, there advertising the maxim coming out in Oct. So lets hope the k2 comes out at the same time :big grin:

Matt at Phenix rods told me they expect word on the K2 production rods on Oct.12, we will see.
