NRX852s... GLX853s....OR????
I am in the market for a new rod to fish tubes for smallmouth on Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair. I have handled the new GLX 853s and wasn't overly impressed with the handle. I have the NRX 822s and fear the 852 would be too light for tubes around here. Especially when snapping them through deep weeds on Clair. Has anyone used one around here? Should I just bit the bullet on the GLX? I wish the had a 3 power in the NRX. I guess the new IMX 853 could be a consideration as well. The handle looks better on it.

NRX872 would be the rod to get.

I like you am really looking for a little heavier powered NRX spinning rod for Great Lake Tubes. I don't know if the 872S will be stout enough. Romur is that G Loomis is working on a slightly more powerful NRX spinning rod. I hopeful and will be waiting for it (maybe this year?)
