Anyone have any experience with these rods? I'm looking into the 7'5 Fred's Magic Stick. Thanks!

I have the 693C, 723C, and 734C and don't regret one bit of it! These rods are built tough extremely light weight. Friend of mine has Fred's stick and he loves it uses it mostly for frogging but it would also double as a good flipping stick too. Try it out you won't be disappointed.

I have the crazy crank and love it for a factory rod. Does some many things well. Big jerks, small swimbaits, spinnerbaits, cranks, etc..

I have the Bub's Punch rod. Haven't caught any toads on it yet as I bought it late last year but it's a beast of a rod and when I talked to Matt he told me that it has plenty of power when I asked him about A-rigs (obviously he said be smart about it and don't load up with 5 6" swimbaits on 1/4oz heads). I'm happy with it so far.

I'm looking for a punching rod to toss 1oz t rigs. This is on my radar but at this price range I wonder if I am better off with a kistler KLX.

Maybe as I have no experience with Kistler's new stuff. Kistler makes butt ugly rods so if that doesn't matter then check them out, I have heard good things about them. Matt Newman at Irod is a top notch guy one of the main reasons why I went with them. The other is listening to Bub's videos about punching and why he now uses Irod.

I have the genesis II large swimbait rod. It's surprisingly light and sensitive. I've fished 1/2 oz jigs on it with 20 lb mono and was able to feel light ticks and bites. I find the trigger to be uncomfortable though. Top notch customer service. Matt Newman is a stand up guy and a man of his words.

I know this is an old thread, but I recently got an iRod Genesis 2 Fred's Magic Stick and I love it. Great multi purpose frog rod for sure.

I can only imagine. I would probably end up using that for other techniques and the Genesis 2 solely for frogging. I will enjoy this for a while with the rest of my rods. I'll try to hold out on the sales temptations for a while, Memorial Day and July 4th isn't that far away

I couldn't wait that long. I just picked up the Air 692 for jerkbaits, the Air 722 spinning for light techniques, and the G2 Bailey's Mag Swim 865 for muskie

Dope, I will check those out. I've only fished it 3x since getting it but I caught 5 frog fish the only day I fished frogs with it. Caught a 6+ and a 4+lb in some jungle like Floridian vegetation :big grin:

I bought the 744c last year and like the rod, but it was pretty tip heavy. I added a counter balance weight on the butt and it was crazy how much that improved the feel of the setup. Still trying to figure out the next one to try out. Probably either the 763CC "Fred's Crank Jr." or the 704C for an all purpose rod.
