I like your style bstuckey but instead of the DX 742SF, I'm bringing a 705cb glass.bstuckey wrote:Dobyn's Extreme 744C full handle.

I have no experience with Megabass...but the "Brothers Three" in the 7'0" MBR GLX series are absolutely proven.bronzefly wrote:Megabass F6-72X4 Destruction

Re: Which 3 are you taking?
If I can ONLY have 3 rods, I want each of them to be as versatile as possible... I'm a big fan of the NRX rods but they excel at bottom contact stuff - the CRR 873 and the JWR 893 are my two favorites in the casting series. I almost picked the Evergreen Super Stallion, Megabass Slant Bridge Diablo, and the Megabass Slant Bridge Jabberwock.SPAZ wrote:No NRX?bronzefly wrote:Megabass F6-72X4 Destruction

I was able to handle Phiten's Destruction last week...it was very nice, but I am not so sure on the handle length and overall length...I am sure that the way it fishes will overcome any "shortcoming" of the overall length.bronzefly wrote:We still have to fix that soon Van
It would be nice to be able to fish both a PX Type R for jigs in the 5/16oz + trailer weight range (although I think this will be too light), 1.5 oz spinnerbaits, buzzjets and swimjigs, etc.
Re: Which 3 are you taking?
why these 3.phiten wrote:f6 69x superdestroyer

super destroyer for bottoms
super bandersnatch - for slightly heavier versatiles up to 1 oz
jabberwock - for smaller presentation up to 3/4 oz

Re: Which 3 are you taking?
That's a very good point.Tokugawa wrote:Where am I fishing? What time of year is it? And what type of cover is there?
Assuming we narrow this to our most likely lake and a general three that can be on the boat year round this is what I'd carry. My general body of water would be the Big O once I get that boat I've been searching for. Lol Right now I walk the banks and one rod does it all. Mostly the Cumara 711MHXF
Dobyns 867 - can throw lots of big wake baits or drag the rim canal with a Hudd 8 ROF 12 & 16
Cumara 711MHXF - can throw 1/2 oz spinnerbaits upto Hudd 68 ROF 12 (could also Punch & possibly Frog)
XBD Frog - can Frog and Punch (would prefer the Cumara 77H for Punchin)
I rarely throw anything lighter then 3/8 oz or use line thinner then 20# mono or 65# Braid so Finesse is not needed. Big lake for big girls with big sticks and big baits. Get bit big or go skunked, it's all good since I'm only chasing big individual fish versus big bag limits. Trophy hunting is simpler then tournament minded.

Flip a coin between a Lamiglas MB841E and a Rich Forhan 726 for #1
An IMX 843 for #2
A Phenix UMBX 707H for #3

Re: Which 3 are you taking?
A few of you have wondered where you were fishing, time of year, etc. Lets play it as a mystery lake with a variety of cover, structure, and depths. As far as location lets keep it local to where you live to help make the choice a bit easier. I live in WI so I am assuming it would be different for me compared to most!
