A friend of mine recently inherited a large set of random bass equipment. The rods have sentimental value to him so he does not want to sell
He's new to bass fishing and wants to know what applications he should use for the following rods/ reels:
Here are the reels:
Quantum Smoke SL100HPT
Quantum Exo EX100 HPT
Curado 200 G6
Shimano Calais 200A
Daiwa Steez 100SHA
Shimano Stradic FJ1000
Daiwa PX68
Lew's Tournament Speed Spool TP1H
Quantum Exo Spinning PT25
Rods:
St. Croix Avid 6'6" Casting
G. Loomis NRX Blue 853cjwr
NRX Green 803cjwr
Loomis MBR782C
Phenix Ultra MBX 700 MH

Smoke- Any lightweight technique to medium really.
Exo- Any lightweight to medium technique really.
Curado- Any medium to heavy bass technique I suppose. I have heard of them being used for trolling too. Definitely the heaviest duty of the bunch.
Calais 100- Lightweight to medium.
Steez- Anything you feel comfortable with. I have heard they cast lightweights like a dream.
Stradic fj- 6'6" to 7' light to medium light spinning rod.
PX68- Finesse Baitcaster. Light and medium light rod.
Exo Spinning- Would be good for spinner baits or really anything. Medium Rod
St. Croix Avid 6'6" Casting- Depends on the power.
Loomis MBR782C Light Baits. Jig and worm. Pixy, Steez Smoke or exo, Calais.
NRX Green 803cjwr- Heavy cover jig and plastics rod. Curado G6
G. Loomis NRX Blue 853cjwr medium-sized jigs, plastic worms and soft jerk-baits- Steez, Calais, Smoke or exo
I'm not an expert I just call em like I see em. Other people may disagreed but in generally. Light rod, light real. Heavy rod, heavy reel. he might have to try em each with each rod. If anyone disagrees listen to them lol.

Re: Pick an app for each of these rods/reels
Looks like he's short a couple of spinning rods.
How I would pair it up:
mbr782c and px68 - Lighter plastics and maybe light cranks
NRX 853C and steez - all around jig and worm
NRX 803C and EXO or Smoke (and I don't even like quantums that much...go figure...) - close cover jig and worm / medium jerks
Phenix Ultra MBX and Calais - you know, stuff...
I don't know what to tell you to put with the avid cause you didn't list the power/action on it, but whatever "leftovers" he has for it are pretty darn good. That's a heck of a set of gear to get started with. I think he has too many reels and not enough rods. I would trade either the smoke or the exo for a DS rod for that Stradic 1000, and trade in the exo spinning, and either the lews or the curado for a nice crankin' setup (didn't notice any moderate action rods or low gear ratio reels in there).
