what does "a rod with some tip" mean?
for as long as i've been fishing, there's one thing i've never understood as far as terminology. when i watch his vidoes, KVD says stuff like, "you'll want a rod with some tip to it" or "choose a rod with a lot of tip". i just saw a poster on this board describe a rod as having "just a bit more tip than the jig and worm rod." okay, i'll admit it, i don't know what that means
Q: does "having tip" mean that the tip of the rod is MORE flexible or LESS flexible?

thanks cal, that's what i thought....just seems a little counterintuitive. plus, i wasn't sure if everyone used it to mean the same thing.

I think Cal should get in the Christmas spirit early with a nice Rod review!

Mmmmmm...red satin goes with just about anything, eh? Also remember, some longer rods, even with the same action and power rating...will give you "more tip".

I always thought an Ugly Stick was a perfect example of a rod with more tip...more tip section - more flex.
