DX 703SF v. BCR853 GLX v. BCR864 GLX

Still researching a good senko rod. As noted in an earlier post I fish anywhere from Lake Fork (17+lb test) to Lake Norman (12lb or less). Looking more versital of the rods for tossing weightless plastics. Or do you recommend a different rod?

I'm guessing that you meant the DX703C as the other two rods you list are casting rods. The DX703SF is a spinning rod.

I like the Dobyns DX743C as my 5" senko rod. It feel just about perfect to me. Very sensitive to detect the subtle bites. Loads well on the cast whether overhand, side or pitching. Enough tip so that I can gently lift the rod & not startle the fish. I've landed fish to 8lbs on the rod without any problems.

Lots of guys like the BCR853. I found it to have too stiff a tip & too fast an action for my liking (for the senko). That is just a personal deal with me as that xfast action is what a lot of guys say they like.

Seems to me, that you'd want to consider the BCR893 when comparing to the DX743 & BCR853. Although the 864 has a similar lure range, it is a more powerful rod. Lots of fans on this forum of the 893. I've honestly only store fished the 893 but I could see how guys would like it for a senko/fluke rod. I keep thinking I'll try it because of the positive reviews but the DX743 is so good, I never pull the trigger. :D
