Finally got a chance to fish a Recon
I finally got a chance to fish a Recon. I fished an A-Rig on a Recon 796 today. Paired it with a conquest 201. The rod worked great! Didn't fish it long cuz my shoulder was killing me from chunking such a heavy rig. Nevertheless, I think I'll be regularly using this rod for the A-Rig.

yeah that should be a good call on that rod, even 6" swimbaits on that rod are fine.
thanks for the feedback.

that rod is an awsome rod... I use that very same rod to throw the 6" wooden Lunker Punker and 7" Senkos. I find it very versatile. The more you use it...the more you will love it.

using mine tomorrow to throw a wake bait. Love that rod too
Re: Finally got a chance to fish a Recon
I actually own this rod as well and throw an A-Rig on it.....fits the bill perfectly for me....while I typically prefer a split grip, the fact that they tapered the handles on all the full grip Recons makes me happy
Tight lines and screaming drags....
