Shimano Clarus Casting 6' Med. Light, Med. Fast

Does anyone have experience with this rod. I broke a similar rod and am considering this for replacement.

The rod has a specific use. I fish standing timber that often gives a problem to my boat which has a max width of 6'4".

I'm casting light suspending or floating jerkbaits that weigh 1/4-3/8 oz. Because of the shorter rod that I broke I'm using a St Croix 6'6" crank bait rod that is medium power moderate action. It is the St Croix Premier PC66MM. It is just a little too long.
