your right, it "looks" like the Ultra MBX, but this rod is supposed to be built on the T46 blank, not the T40 that is used by the Ultra MBX.

I have heard the T46 blanks are very nice, so I was interested in a full rod. Might have to go "custom"... ;)

Both will be making there debut at iCast. Stop by the booth and check them out. The T46 as of right now does not have a name for it. The Assassin is derived from our Assassin inshore series. It too may change by show time. Price point on the T46 will be about $425-450.00 The assassin will price out at $149.00. the Assassin will have about 10-15 models. The T46 about 20 models.

I am VERY interested in the Assassin Series, I think its the perfect price point for me to be introduced to Phenix rods. Looking forward to finding out more specifics about the models.

Some T46 blanks are out there with custom builders and they are by far the lightest blanks on the market. How do they fish? How well will they hold up? I have no idea, but the guys I know that have them are very happy with them so far.

I was thinking about getting a mojo but might have to wait now. Is there an assassin crank?

Since you have an inside with the company please suggest they make M & MH versions of the crank rod (X10?) that scored well in the TT crankbait rod shootout last year in the Assassin line.

Chinese made graphite blank at $450? Wow.... you guy are really bold...
The current MBX is very nice, but is not superior to any industry leader, in fact comparing the blank to blank it still inferior. With the new one you are pricing to match with Loomis NRX, which were made in America?

I don't say that it will be bad in quality, but over pricing is still over pricing.

has anyone tried / tested / compared a T46 blank (rod) against a NFC blank (rod) and then again against a NRX?

I gotta agree with you there...a blank made in China that competes with a rod like the NRX that's built in the USA...I dunno man...
