What's the VERDICT? 7'6" Verdict. How long really?

The Abu Garcia Verdicts have a retractable butt. I need a longer rod for pitching and frogging but 7'2" is the most my car accomodates. Is the 7'6" measurement with the butt extended? If so how long is it with the butt retracted?

All the verdict rods are lsited with the rod in its extended position. deduct 3 1/8" when closed. ABU- has done a terrible job of publishing this information with their specifications. I had to wait for them to come in to go look at them at therir factory outlet store to determine this---not even the customer service people could tell me.
