Which rod manufacturer gives you the most for your money?

Shimano as well. A little bias since I own about 11 of them. I'd say Shimano then Powell. You can't beat the Crucial line of rods for the price, performance, and warranty - PERIOD.

Actually I could interpreted this in two ways. "Bang for the buck" or "Best product for your money".

Arguably, Powell provides an excellent product for the money spent, you only need to look at the product following and sterling praise.

My choice however, would be G. Loomis. The GLX is the one by which all others are judged. Not the greatest quality of cork, and not the best guides (I fish the BCR series so all mine have recoil), actually pretty pedestrian in appearance. But the blank is what sets it apart from all others and makes it my choice as "most for the money".

In my opinion, Dobyns Saavy line is the best rod for your buck... The quality you get and the perfect balance they certainly under priced these rods. I've paid more for other rods and for me a Saavy out performs them. Saavy is just their entry level rods, I'd love to feel a Champion or DX.

Powell. I have never fished one and really don't plan on buying one but based on price, Powell seems to offer a good looking rod with a great price and loyal customer base who praise both the rod and the warranty.

Shimano Crucial Rods for me. They are all I fish with anymore if they are right action for type of fishing and line strength is OK.

I changed my vote. Initially, I voted for Powell, as I had the opprotunity to fish a friends Max for a while. Really a nice rod, at a great price. My son has two Crucial's, again... nice rods for the price. However, if I were going to by a rod in a similar category as those two rods, it would be a St. Croix Avid.

St.Croix is the best at doing just that, giving the most for your money. But I dont use them anymore, because I found Gloomis to be more sensitive.

Powell......best bang for my bucks. I like the fact that the rods are light, sensitve, and has a variety or lenghts and actions. very versitile.

Being as I actually liked my Crucial rods better than the MBR 843 GLX I had, I have no choice but to vote Shimano.

Not tried Powell or Dobyns though, so I can only vote for those that I've used.
