Fuji Palm Support
Fuji Palm Support
I have a Power Tackle PTC-76 glass cranking rod and it has the Fuji Palm Support handle on it. After slow rolling spinnerbaits all morning on it, i am convinced that it is a superior design (for me) in that as well as most crankbait applications. Nothing like tucking the butt under your wing with a low gear ratio reel and comfortably (and securely) cranking away. I am wondering why more rod designers do not utilize the Palm Support in their dedicated cranking rods? Are most buyers using them for multiple applications, etc?

What is the Fuji Palm Support? Never heard of it before.
Are you talking about the ACS reel seat?

I hope the attachment is there. If so, this is what it looks like.
Re: Fuji Palm Support
Interesting. With the palm support, does the 'support' go below your little finger vs in between your fingers as with a normal trigger seat?
Re: Fuji Palm Support
Yes, your entire hand is in front of it-similar to cradling an egg in your palm (if that makes sense). Extremely comfortable and very functional. I have landed LMB up to 7 lbs and SMB up to 5 with it, so control isn't an issue. Big selling point for many is that it leaves your wrist in it's normal anatomical position. I just think it's a better design, especially for deep diving crankbaits and glass/composite rods.

Thanks. Looks cool.
For some reason, the picture didn't show up when I first checked out the thread. The picture really helps to show what you are talking about.

#1 - They're huge! They're only available in a 20mm ID. Most Bass equipment is running with 16mm or 17mm seats.
#2 - Exposed and skeletonized seats are what is popular right now.
If they made a size 16 exposed blank model, I'm sure they'd find favor.

Yep--I remember that seat was popular for saltwater builds when it came out. On production rods, you can find it on Shimano's Trevala jigging series.Mattman wrote:#1 - They're huge!
