Daiwa spinning rod handles

Post by biggs » Sat Mar 19, 2011 3:42 pm

Does anyone prefer the handles on Daiwa spinning rods over 'normal' handles (Powell, Dobyns etc with no fore grip)?
I am looking into a Fuego rod but no too sure about holding the rod in front of the reel.

Thanks in advance

I hold all my spinning rods with two or three fingers, depending on balance, in FRONT of the reel stem. Spinnings rods with no foregrip are missing the part of the handle I use.

I will probably never own a Powell, Dobyns, Kistler, or other spinning rod with no foregrip. Even if the balance were so far towards the but that I could grip the rod on the cork portion I would not be able to reach far enough forward with my finger to hold the line for casting.

The Daiwa style handles are thus among the most attractive high-end offerings to me, if only I had a spare car to sell to buy some...
