Hmmm....that's the first and only gripe I've encountered regarding St. Croix customer service over the past several years. I hope all worked out in the end.
I prefer St. Croix rods both factory and custom builds. Never had a reason to go lookin' elsewhere yet. I was going to have a custom built on a Rainshadow but have since tossed that idea away. I just feel totally confident with St. Croix.

i pick St.Croix , they make the best big bait rod blanks( Legend tournament musky series) , period . ive dealt with their customer service and it's first class
second choice is Phenix rods as i love their blanks for my spinning rods (custom) and general purpose baitcasting rods (also custom)

I love my G Loomis IMX mbr843c and mbr844c rods, but I'm very pleased with Dobyns rods and the customer service they provide.

Dobyns Rods. Great selection and series, fantastic customer service and warranty programs, quality blanks, sensitive rods, balances well, cork handles, priced reasonably, and looks nice.

Have a Dobyns spinning rod but I just don't like the reel seat that far back.

I've always been a St Croix guy and still use their spinning rods for white bass and salmon/steelhead fishing. But ever since I discovered Megabass there's just something magical about those rods. It says alot when a guy sells off his prized lego collection to aquire them... sigh. Oh well, they were just sitting there taking up space. You build them once and then the fun factor goes away. That's what I tell myself so I can sleep at night.
